První den šampionátu byla na programu soutěž družstev. Svitavští v oslabené sestavě Konečný, Drapák, Šmíd, Vavruška, Nevrlík, Elisek zvládli základní i osmifinálovou skupinu, podlehli až ve čtvrtfinále týmu HCS Žabka Praha. Benátečtí vybojovali 12. místo. V turnaji juniorů přišla první velká chvíle Petra Tměje (THC Stiga Svitavy), jenž splnil roli favorita a dokráčel k prvenství, čtvrtfinále si zahráli ještě P. Petr z Benátek a Vavruška ze Svitav.
Do hlavního turnaje jednotlivců se probojovalo celkem 48 hráčů. Petr Tměj měl být podle předpokladů hlavním rivalem pro vítěze ČP Lukáše Turoně a také jím byl, spolu se potkali ve finálovém duelu. První dva zápasy vyhrál Tměj v prodloužení, další dva získal favorit z Třince, ale poté se znovu dvakrát radoval svitavský hráč a stal se poprvé v kariéře mistrem České republiky. Mezi osmičku nejlepších se dostal i David Šmíd, ve čtvrtfinále vypadl s Turoněm. Ze zástupců Stiga HC Benátky se nejvýše, tedy na 31. pozici, umístil Zdeněk Lopaur.
